School observed Axom Divas on 2nd December 2016. One of the teacher and a student of Class VI highlighted the importance of the day. It was followed by two patriotic songs.
Lachit Divas
On 24th November 2016 (Thursday) Lachit Divas was observed in 1st and 2nd period. The program started with Mangalacharan followed by a teacher's speech. A few students of class VI performed a patriotic song. Two girls of class VII recited two poems. Also a student of class VII delivered a speech on Lachit Borphukon. Finally the observation was concluded with Shanti Mantra.
Disaster Preparedness Drill
A disaster management programme was organised on 10/11/2016. The programme was conducted by civil defence wardens from Deputy Commissioner Office, Sivasagar. The focus was mainly to adopt measures during the occurance of diasasters.Smt. Moromi Borah and Ritu Dutta very effectively conducted the programme .Students of Class VI and VII attended during the drill.
Bhupen Hazarika Divas
On 5th Nov 2016 school observed 5th Death Anniversary of Hudha Kantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. There was a Bhupendra Sangeet Competition for the students of Class VI & VII to pay the tribute to the legend.
Sister Nivedita Jayanti
Grand Parent's meet was organised on the occasion of Sister Nivedita Jayanti dated 28 Oct 2016. Chief guest, MR. ASHOK KR. CHOUBEY, a teacher of hindi high school spoke that old age cannot be an obstacle to work for mankind, only required is enthusiasm (mana-bal). 25 nos. of grandparents were present who were been welcomed with traditional phulam gamusa, along with it Man-Patra was also honoured.

Drama Competition
Drama Competition to be held on 30-Sep-2016. The students of class V will participate in the event.The selected students will take part in "Srimanta Sankardev Natya Samaroh", organised by VKSPV at Natya Mandir, Nalbari in November.
Raksha Bandhan
As like as the previous years in this year also the "Raksha Bandhan" was celebrated in our school on 18th Aug 2016. This time all the girls students of class IV and V were taken to "Rajmou High School" to tie Rakhi to the students of that school. All the boys students of that school also showered their blessings on their respective sisters. Our Didis also tied Rakhi on the wrists of the Sirs of that school.
Universal Brotherhood Day
This year Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Sivasagar organised a ‘Surya Namaskar’ competition for nearby schools. The occasion started with Mangalacharan. The guest speaker was Mr. Dombidhar Taye, a parent. Along with him Debashish Sharma, D.S.P. Sivasagar, Bhoben Mohan, Social Worker were also present. There were around 350 students participated in the competition. More than 300 also withnessed the program. Overall the celebration of “Universal Brotherhood Day” was a successful one.
