Universal Brotherhood Day is celebrated to Commemorate the message of Universal Brotherhood given by Swami Vivekananda at the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago on September 11,1893. Today VKV Sivasagar celebrated this significant day in collaboration with two colleges- Sivasagar Commerce College and Nazira College. In Sivasagar Commerce College the Guest Speaker was Santanu Nath, PGT ( History) from Dibrugarh VKV School and Guest of Honour were Principal and Vice Principal of Commerce College Dr Saumarjyoti Mahanta and Dr Ratul Sharma. In Nazira College the guest of honour was Dr Suraj Rajkonwar (H.O. D of Education Department),Dr. Rajiv Bora,( Assistant professor) and a few other Assistant professors of the college. The Speaker was Basudev Upadhyaya ( Principal VKV Sivasagar). A few students of our Vidyalaya delivered the Speech of Swami Vivekananda which was delivered in Chicago, in presence of the large gathering in both the colleges.
